The Lady Warriors traveled to Culver Community on Saturday and fell 1-0 in what was a tight game from the first whistle. Despite the fact that the Warriors haven't trained on a full size pitch in two weeks, due to weather conditions, they did a nice job of using the space to gain midfield control and saw some dangerous opportunities in the offensive half for a total of 7 shots with 2 on goal for the day. With 17 minutes to play in the first half, Culver was awarded a corner kick that was not fully cleared and a Cavalier was able to hit a powerful 20 yard shot to the upper far 90 for the only goal of the day. Despite that goal, the Warrior defense was strong. The rotating back line and defensive midfield of Laina Kling, Maddie Hall, Halle Shirrell, Alecia Jimenez, Sarah Snavely and Addy Thomas were able to shut down most threats within 20 yards of goal. Culver was limited to 2 shots on goal in the first half and keeper Brylee Edwards ended the day with 5 saves. The Lady Warriors have a big week ahead with a home game Thursday, then travel to Ft. Wayne Southside on Saturday.
