The Lady Warrior Soccer Team wrapped up their season on Wednesday when they fell to Argos in the Semi-Final game of the Culver Sectional. One day earlier, they secured an appearance in the semi-final when they beat Peru 1-0. The first half leaned the Warrior way, as they finished the half with 3 shots on goal to the Tigers 0, but the score line read 0-0 at the break. The Lady Warriors finally got on the board after 6:00 minutes had gone by in the second half and a relay of passes between Porscha Pickett and Laina Kling made their way to Delilah Weaver where she played a ball through on the left side, splitting the defensive back line of the Tigers, to Sydney Lane who was running the line and possessed the ball in stride. Lane took a touch right, then finished the shot with her right foot, beating the keeper to secure the goal and a Warrior shut-out win. The win placed the Lady Warriors in the semi-final game the next night against Argos who advanced with a win over Wabash. The team came with energy and a defensive plan and though the Dragons held most of the possession, the Warriors had some dangerous moments with 2 shots on goal while holding Argos to zero goals and only 2 shots on goal the first half. The Dragon's made some changes during the break at half and pushed the tempo in the final 40 minutes of the game. Argos' first goal came early in the second half when a cross came in to the edge of the 6 yard box and despite the efforts of two Warrior defenders, an Argos attacker was able to push the ball across the goal line. The Dragon's second goal came around the half-way mark of the second half, and a third goal in the final 5 minutes of the game would secure the win for Argos. The Warriors will graduate a strong group of players in Seniors Kinzy Storm, Laina Kling, Delilah Weaver, Haylee See, Caedra Behny, Alecia Jimenez and goalkeeper Brylee Edwards. They have made a lasting impact on the North Miami program and the returning Warriors look forward to building on their hard work and dedication. Thank you Seniors!
