Warriors win! The Warriors traveled to conference foe Winamac on Thursday and picked up a 1-0 win. NM played disciplined soccer and controlled throughout the hard fought game. The Warriors had several scoring opportunities in the first half keyed by senior Ming Lowry and junior Tristan Armstrong but couldn't quite connect. In the second half the Warriors continued to create offensive opportunities before sophomore Joel Wilcox placed a great pass on the run to freshman Brady Coppler who found the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage. Winamac mounted several attacks but the Warrior defense held strong with great back line play anchored by senior Riley Kling. The defensive back line of freshmen Caleb Steele, Jace Hall, seniors Joe Berkheiser, Riley Kling and junior Gabe Wiley were instrumental in keeping Winamac scoring opportunities at bay. Senior keeper Ray Pickett picked up the shutout. The Warriors host North White on Saturday.
