The Lady Warriors took to the field last night in support of suicide awareness during their home game victory against Rossville, defeating the Hornets 5-1. The Hornets scored first with just 4:15 left in the first half. The Warriors wasted no time leveling when Laina Kling took a few touches toward the 18 yard box and floated a shot that would bounce off the keeper allowing a crashing Karly Hostetler to put the ball in for a goal. Just 2 minutes later, Kinzy Storm was taken down from behind in the box and Senior Kara Wolfe stepped up to score the PK. The Warriors would take the 2-1 lead into halftime. North Miami kept the intensity through the second half doing an exceptional job defensively on both sides of the field. The Warriors third goal came from a toe poke assist from Keyli Pantaleon to get Kinzy Storm in on goal who then beat the keeper with a nice passing shot. Porscha Pickett scored the next goal after getting hold of a bad clearance from 18 yards out and finishing it first touch in the upper 90 far post. Kinzy Storm scored her brace on a distance shot assisted by Laina Kling. This game was won with good play on both sides of the ball. We appreciate the work Abby Duncan and Kara Wolfe did on their Senior Project and for involving our team to help raise awareness on this very important topic that has touched so many in our community. Next Up: Senior Day, Saturday, September 28 vs Oregon Davis at 10am. Senior Recognition will be for both boys and girls between games. Boys play at 12:00N
