On Saturday, the Warriors traveled to Huntington University to compete in the New Haven Invitational. This course is the venue for the IHSAA regional taking place on October 26. We had three athletes compete. Senior Ethan Johnston ran the challenging course, finishing in 116th place out of 182 runners and crossing the line in a time of 21:46. For the girls, freshman Leah Shafer finished in 43rd place overall completing the race in 24:48, while junior Leah Miller ran a 29:05 and finished in 87th place. On Tuesday, the teams went to county rival Peru, where they faced Pioneer, Caston, Peru, and Lewis Cass (boys only). All four Warrior runners earned ribbons by finishing in the top 15 places! Leah Shafer finished in 7th placed for the girls despite getting sick during the race, completing the course in 24:27. Leah Miller had her best performance of the season, taking nearly a minute of her best time finishing in 12th place with a time of 27:12. Sophomore Michael Miser ran a lifetime PR (personal record), finishing 13th in 20:30. Senior Ethan Johnston had his best race of the year, clocking a 20:52 and finishing in 15th place. The Warriors will take part in the HNAC championship meet this Saturday at Winamac City Park. Good luck, Warriors!
