JV started off good, reaching a comfortable lead in the middle of the second quarter, but the Panthers wouldn’t go away quietly. They went on a run to end the quarter and cut the Warrior halftime lead to 1. NM came out with two straight three pointers from freshman Evan Chumbley (14 pts, 4 threes made) and started to gain that larger lead back. North Miami handled all pressure well and played very good defense, earning a 30-24 victory to get their record up to 2-2. Pioneer scored the first 8 and NM got on the board with around 1:30 left in the first. The Warriors got their offense going in the second and took a one point lead at the half. Both sides played even the entire third, but the Panthers made a statement in the fourth. Even though they only scored 8 points in the quarter, they shut out the Warriors to prevent them from getting back in the game. The Warriors drop their first conference game 40-33 and their record is also now 2-2. The Warrior will host Culver Community on Friday, December 20th.
