Varsity vs ARGOS COMM JR-SR HIGH SCHOOL (67 - 63) JV kicked things off with a slow start on offense, but the defense was doing their job efficiently. With an 11-5 lead at halftime, the Warriors only had some adjustments on offense to make in the second half. They came out firing in the third and rode the momentum to a 20 point lead. Everything worked out for the Warriors in the fourth and they came away with a 37-22 victory ending their 3 game skid. Varsity was also having a tough time over the last couple of games and looked to turn it around here. Both sides played their parts efficiently in the first half and the Dragons kept it a single digit lead for the Warriors at half. Varsity also started the second half hot like JV did, and rode their momentum to a 15 point lead with 8 to go. Argos fought back and cut the lead down to 3, but with key free throws from the Warriors they were able to seal the victory 67-63. Senior Jake Riley achieved an outstanding accomplishment in the game, recording his 1,000th career point in varsity contests. He also finished with a game and career high 43 points to really boost the Warriors to a win. NM now prepares for North Judson Saturday evening looking to improve to 4-2 in conference play.
