North Miami headed to Peru Tuesday. The JV started off strong, leading 12-2 after the first but then the Tigers woke up. Peru’s offense came to life and took a 3 point lead at the half. NM didn’t back down and with the combination of hitting shots and getting stops, the Warriors rode their momentum to a 42-32 victory and their fourth straight victory. Varsity was a little slow to start offensively and allowed Peru to put up 25 in the first quarter. But the Warriors came to play in the second and cut the lead down to 8 at the half. The second half started off with both teams exchanging a couple of 3s to keep the game at 8, but then Peru found a new gear. The Warriors were starting to turn the ball over more and had a tough time getting defensive stops. The Tigers rode this momentum the rest of the way to a 75-53 defeat of the Warriors. On Saturday the Warriors will travel to Rochester.
