North Miami Volleyball Defeats Kokomo in Thrilling Match

North Miami Volleyball takes another win with a hard-fought match against Kokomo High School last Thursday, August 21st, 2025. The junior varsity set the tone early, sweeping their match 2–0. In varsity action, Kokomo came out strong and took a set off North Miami in a tight opening set, 23–25. But the Lady Warriors answered back in the following 3 sets. Senior Ashtyn Halterman anchored the defense with 16 serve receptions and a flawless 10-for-10 passing performance. On the offensive side, Chloe Sparks controlled the pace of play, dishing out an impressive 30 assists, rocking the second touch. Kayden Donaldson was a force at the net, finishing with 12 kills to lead the team in scoring. The Warriors battled back to secure the next three sets with scores of 25–20, 25–16, and 26–24, sealing the victory in a nail-biting conclusion. Another strong showing for the Lady Warriors as they continue to build momentum this season. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Warriors also opened their 2025 season with impressive performance, picking up three wins at the Peru Invitational on Saturday, August 16. The Warriors set the tone early with a victory over LaVille, taking the match in straight sets, 25–15 and 25–18. Setter Chloe Sparks orchestrated the offense with an outstanding 21 assists, sparking the team’s momentum. North Miami carried that energy into the next game against Class 4A Huntington North, securing another sweep, 25–9 and 25–22. Kaiden Donaldson dominated at the net, recording 4 solo blocks, 2 assisted blocks, and 5 kills, while libero Zoey Sparks turned in a flawless defensive performance, going 9-for-9 on serve receive and 7-for-7 on digs. The Warriors then faced Peru and once again prevailed in straight sets, 25–15 and 25–15. Grace Sailors powered defensively with 12 kills, helping North Miami punch their ticket to the championship match. In the finals, the Warriors battled hard against a strong Hamilton Heights, but ultimately fell short. Despite the loss, North Miami’s effort secured a second-place finish in the tournament and highlighted the team’s depth and early-season potential.
