North Miami Middle/High School

The North Miami cross country teams traveled to Monon on Saturday to compete in the North White Invitational. This was the first full 5K race of the season as well as the first middle school race. Sophomore Leah Shafer earned a medal by placing 6th overall, finishing with a time of 23:02, over three minutes faster than she ran at this race last year! Freshman Sydney Lane completed her first high school 5K race, placing 35th and running 26:34. Senior Leah Miller battled through the race placing 50th and finishing in 31:26. Representing the middle school, eighth grader Taylor Starkey ran her first race of the season, completing the 3K race with a time of 13:28, good enough to place 14th and earn a ribbon! The Warriors will travel to Upland this Saturday to run in the Eastbrook Invitational, which is held at Taylor University’s cross country course. Good Luck, Warriors!
