The North Miami Lady Warriors volleyball team brought home an impressive second-place finish at the Tomahawk Tournament on Saturday, August 23, 2025. In pool play, the Warriors came out strong against Delphi. Zoey Sparks was perfect on defense, going 3-for-3 in both serve receptions and digs. Layla Hampton powered the offense with 6 kills, helping the Warriors dominate in straight sets, 25-5 and 25-11. Next, North Miami faced Caston and kept the momentum rolling. Layla Hampton anchored the defense this time with another perfect 5-for-5 in both serve receptions and digs. At the net, Grace Sailors and Andi Hoover were unstoppable, each posting a flawless hitting percentage. Hoover tallied 6 kills while Sailors crushed 12. The Warriors cruised to victory with commanding set scores of 25-8 and 25-3. The Warriors then met a familiar face, picking up Wabash in bracket play, a team that had defeated them earlier this season. This time, North Miami flipped the script. Sailors led the attack yet again with 12 kills, while setter Chloe Sparks produced 25 assists to fuel the offense. In a hard-fought battle, the Warriors earned their revenge, winning in two sets, 25-18 and 27-25, securing their place in the championship match. For the first time in years, North Miami advanced to the tournament final, where they squared off against the South Adams Starfires. The Warriors started strong but fatigue began to show, and they ultimately fell in straight sets, 8-25 and 15-25. Though the championship didn’t end in their favor, the Lady Warriors’ run was a statement performance, showing growth, resilience, and potential for the rest of the season.
