North Miami Middle/High School

Our Warrior cross country teams raced at Manchester Saturday and demonstrated another week of improvement! In the high school boys' race, senior Nik Augustyn shaved over a minute off last week's time, crossing the finish line in 25:28. This first-year runner is gaining ground with every workout! In the high school girls' race, sophomore Leah Shafer improved last year's finish time by nearly a minute and a half, placing 77th of 169 runners with a time of 22:42. Freshman Sydney Lane continues to show promise, cutting 40 seconds off last week's performance (24:48, 121st). Senior Leah Miller not only ran over a minute faster than last week, but she bettered last year's Manchester time by over 2 minutes, placing 147th with a time of 26:20. In the junior high race, eighth grader Taylor Starkey ran with grit, placing 38th of 114 finishers with a time of 13:43. The Warriors will race in the Maconaquah Invitational next Saturday.
