The Lady Warriors traveled to North White on Saturday and came home with a win, shutting out the Vikings 6-0. Kinzy Storm got things started when she collected a rebound off of the Viking keeper and finished it left foot. Storm's second goal would come after central defender Alecia Jimenez, sent a long ball in behind the North White defense. Kinzy won the footrace, then first touch chipped the ball over the charging keeper's head to finish just under the crossbar. To complete the first half scoring, Delilah Weaver made a far post run and was met with a nice cross from Kinzy Storm. Weaver timed the run well and made a solid shot to put the Warriors up 3-0 at the half. Weaver got things going in the second half when Lindey Townsend crossed a ball that Ella Meyers was able to toe poke forward and Weaver was ready to make the strong finish high in the net just under the crossbar and out of reach of the keeper. Storm completed her hat trick after receiving a Weaver throw in and finishing a low shot out of reach of the keeper. The final goal of the day was scored on a Penalty Kick taken by Posrscha Pickett after a North White handball. Pickett drove the ball to the left of the keeper and it landed solid in the back of the net. The small field size led to a high transition game and the Warrior midfield did well to control the pace of the game. Lindsey Pugh collected 6 saves and is credited with her third shut-out of the season. The Lady Warriors are now 4-1-1 and will take the pitch again Monday, September 8 where they will host Maconaquah at 6pm.
